I came into chiropractic care about six years ago with absolutely no idea of what to expect, I just knew that I had to do something about the pain I was in, I didn’t want to go down the seemingly endless pain-killer road that I knew would only relieve the symptoms without getting to the cause. Not only did I walk out of the clinic feeling a whole lot better I learned so much about how my body was working, and better than that, how it was supposed to work! I left with future appointments and HOPE where previously I had felt that my hopes for a healthy future were minimal. The initial, and continuing education and guidance that I receive from Dr. Maryellen, and her wonderful team, regarding my condition both then and now is so positive it has enabled me to be much more pro-active in maintaining my own good health. With this and the Chiropractors expert care, incredible knowledge and amazingly skilled hands I have been enabled to live a much healthier life. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude sufficiently and I wish I had known about chiropractic at a much earlier stage in my life; I would definitely have liked to have brought my children up in this wonderful system of natural health care.

I have been working at Westcountry Family Chiropractic and Cranial for five years now, and I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

The adjustments I have received during my time here have enabled me to lead a more relaxed and fulfilling life, I can breathe more deeply, I sleep better and I feel much more my natural self, in fact the best I’ve felt for a long while.

Before starting to work here I studied nursing and it was a colleague that steered me towards chiropractic, it was then that I made a life changing career choice and joined the lovely warm and supportive Westcountry Family Chiropractic team.  Since joining I have studied to be a Chiropractic Assistant with online mentoring from “The Masters Circle” and graduated in 2009, this was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.  I also have a passion for studying the Enneagram, a method of personality type analysis which enables me to understand the intricacies of personal relationships. My other interests include dance, Tai Chi, meditation and singing. I enjoy being with my family and my circle of lovely friends.

In January 2009 I had a minor RTA causing a whiplash injury. I was treated as a minor soft tissue damage injury and advised accordingly. I had seen My GP and a few months later a physiotherapist but nothing seemed change how much pain I was in. After following standard medical advice, my pain gradually got worse and found months later I becoming more dependant on painkillers to function in daily life. I felt like a wreck. In October 2009 I was recommended to go to Westcountry Family Chiropractic and Cranial by my Homeopath. Within two weeks I had my first appointment an X-ray and a diagnosis. It was clear, with vertebrae out of place, I had had a serious whiplash injury, this explained my continuous pain I had for 10 months I was so relieved. After three weeks and 5 adjustments, my back pain diminishing and I was feeling on top of the world, there was a vacancy to join this fabulous team as a Chiropractic Assistant.

I have lived in Cornwall nearly all of my life, studied Business and Finance at college, since then my work has been mainly focused on Customer Services, Administration and Sales and Marketing. My family and I love to be outdoors, come wind, rain or shine. At the beach, surfing or walking. Swimming and Cycling. DIY and gardening!

I believe in Homeopathy. Healthy Eating, Keeping Active, Physically and Mentally. Learn lots, and relax!
